Displace Engine centers itself around absences created by displacement and disassociation; this work utilizes choreographic methods of repetition, instant composition, and variations on kinetic and structural themes; the movement both deconstructs and indulges in sentimentality by romanticizing physical vocabulary over time.

There is libretto involved, instantly composed every performance by performers- creates distance between the dance and the audience. By employing an aesthetic of "sexualized metal,” costumes, design, and sonic environment propels the atmosphere of internality vs externality, inclusivity vs exclusivity, with sound design and composition by Zach Crumrine, music by artist SOFIA RETA, styled by Helena Grierson.
